Anybody remember Mr. Green Jeans, on the Captain Kangaroo Show? Yah, he was really a cool dude – he was just himself, no matter what. What’s that got to do with this post, you may wonder. Well . . . this week’s photo challenge is (natch!) thankful.
Green jeans. That’s what I’m thankful for.
Why green jeans? Because they speak of a friend’s thoughtfulness. She gave these to me, knowing I would use them to make a purse and matching zipper pouch (which is in the works right now). So, really, it’s not so much the jeans and purse that make me thankful, it’s the friends that think of me.
Looks great… you are soooooo talented…..I am soooooo jealous. I love you and am very proud to be your friend all these 24 yrs. ~ Debra

aw shucks ya make me blush – Steve thinks it’s a great purse. I had one little piece of that lining material left, and it seemed to set it off well. I have the zipper pouch cut out but not put together yet. Thank you again for thinking of me!!

I hadn’t thought of Mr. Green Jeans in years! I remember my mom calling me “Little Miss Green Jeans” because I had a pair when I was 4. Great purse… and I love how you were able to tie Thankfulness, nostalgia, friendship and a look at your creation into one short, succinct little post!

aw shucks…thanks so much! She gave me those on Thanksgiving Day – what better subject for a Thankful post (other than thankfulness for the LORD). 🙂

That’s a thankful thing in itself – usually it takes me several days to do one, mainly because I walk around it and look at it and ponder lining possibilities and pockets and all that stuff. This time I just decided to git er dun.

thank you so much. Amazingly, I sold it about an hour ago. I didn’t even intend to sell it!! But a friend (our realtor, actually) saw it, loved it, and said she’d love to buy it for a Christmas gift. Now I have some more reverse tithe money to use for a mission!!

Thanks…yeah…sometimes fun and work aren’t exactly synonymous. It goes much better when I keep my attitude where it belongs. 🙂
